Gigi Hadid doesn’t seem to take a break these days: earlier this year, she was hopping around the world for Fashion Week catwalk appearances, and last month, she and her sister made headlines as the fresh faces of Versace, not to mention all the incredible street style looks her and Bella so courteously deliver us on a daily basis.
In addition to these things, Gigi Hadid has been quietly working on an amazing new swimwear line in collaboration with Frankies Bikinis for the past few months.
Frankies Bikinis, a Los Angeles beachwear and lifestyle brand noted for its stylish bikinis and one-pieces, was founded by Francesca Aiello, a close friend of Gigi Hadid – and we had a suspicion something like this might be on the way after the model and her daughter Khai were spotted matching in Frankies Bikinis ensembles last summer (which then quickly sold out).
The Gigi x Frankies Bikinis collaboration celebrates the brand’s tenth anniversary and promises to be particularly spectacular. The collection is influenced by Gigi’s farming roots in her Pennsylvania family home, as well as carefree, simple days spent in happiness with those she loves and is filled with sentiment, nostalgia, and femininity.
From a tree stump detail with G+F etched out to symbolise the pair’s friendship, to the fawn and doe pattern that depicts the delight that motherhood has brought into her life, there are personal touches featured everywhere. The aesthetic is beautiful, wholesome Americana with a hint of the ‘girl next door’ that Gigi herself represents so wonderfully, with bows, ruffles, florals, and plaid prints aplenty.
With prices starting at £49.00 and sizes ranging from XS to XXL, the Gigi x Frankies Bikinis capsule collection will be issued in two drops, the first on May 11 and the second on June 2.
