Cannes Film Festival is back for 2022 and has released its first official lineup last week — with more films to be announced in the coming days.
The lineup — announced by Cannes artistic director Thierry Frémaux — looks to be a diverse set that is sure to please cinema lovers.
Crimes of the Future and The Stars at Noon are just two names set to premiere on the Croisette this year as well as films by James Gray, Hirokazu Kore-Eda and others.
The festival also confirmed the world premiere of the long-awaited Top Gun sequel — Top Gun: Maverick.
Shaking up the festival, in March it was announced that Iris Knobloch had been elected as the first female president of the festival.
This year marks the 75th year of the Cannes Film Festival and from May 17 to May 28 this southern French town will be the place to be for cinema lovers.
