Miami Swim Week 2022 Highlights

July 15, 2022 Share

It’s summer in Miami and with it comes the yearly Miami Swim Week runway shows. Here’s some of the highlights from the past week.

In case the scorching temperatures hadn’t warned you already; it is officially summer — and with summer comes the beach, the pool and the afterparties, all of which require swimwear to match. From the 11th to the 18th of July, Miami Swim Week is well underway, so let’s run through some of what has walked down the runway so far.

Ema Savahl has just walked the swim week runway as the opening show to the sound of Katy Perry’s infamous song: fireworks. High ponytails, embroidered tops and glow in the dark features made up the collection, but we were particularly keen on the transparencies and corseted features the models sported down the catwalk.

Supermodel Swimwear

Supermodel Swimwear was all about the asymmetric, bikinis which appeal to the avant-garde through conceptual transparencies, glittery shawls and cut-out one-pieces. They came across as fun, fresh and summery enough to kick-start a bunch of new bikini trends for 2022.

Breezy Swim

Opting for more minimalistic pieces, Breezy Swim played with one-pieces with cut-out sides, canary yellow bikini sets and some metallic-looking fabric. Our favourite? The bucket hats and cow prints, always paired with large earrings to compliment the summer vibe.

Blu Crochet

Blu Crochet populated the Miami Swim Week runway through their sustainable crafting designed to empower women. This translated to fun and electric crocheted pieces, Panama hats, emojis and hearts.

Sinesia Karol

Celebrating 10 years of the brand Sinesia Karol worked the runway with elegant flowery kimonos and belts to compliment the swim pieces. The Brazilian brand featured crochet-like patterns, transparencies and ruffles for their Miami Swim Week collection.

Another Brazilian brand to walk the runway, Lybethras went for minimal patterns, focusing instead on ruffles on the shoulders, straps and the occasional glitz and glamour.
