With several Academy Award nominations and massive box office numbers, the film is known for its critical acclaim, record-breaking use of the F-bomb, and some pretty wild party scenes that are now up for sale. But between the passionate speeches from Leonardo DiCaprio and the scene-stealing presence of Margot Robbie, featured as the home of stockbroker-turned-felon Jordan Belfort, this Long Island estate is just as impressive in real life as it is in the movie.
Jordan Belfort started at a stock firm which instantly closed down during the Black Monday event of 1987. The bad luck proved to be true fate as Jordan found success in the world of penny stocks and made enough money to open his stock firm.
With a close group of friends and some wild antics, they rose, made millions, and scammed many people using a pump and dump scheme within their business. Belfort’s on-screen life is filled with many crazy moments, “including yachts, helicopters, and luxurious cars”.
The five-acre property includes “a 15,000-square-foot mansion with six bedrooms, seven bathrooms across three levels, a hot tub, barbershop, gym, wine cell, and theatre”. Five acres of land are being sold by Douglas Elliman, who holds the listing.
Located “just 25 minutes from Belmont Racetrack, the property is an equestrian’s dream boasting horse paddocks and a barn with a 10-stall stable, an apartment, tack room, and riding ring”.
But even if you’re not a ‘horsie person’, you can still enjoy a sprawling principal residence spanning three levels with six bedrooms and seven bathrooms. According to Robb Report, there’s also a raised-bed cook’s kitchen and a four-car garage. Even though it wasn’t the main house that Belfort lived in during many scenes in the film (although his authentic place at the time was in the Oyster Bay area), the life of luxury still oozes out of the front door.
After pleading guilty to fraud and stock market manipulation, “Jordan Belfort was sentenced to four years in prison in 2003“. He has since reinvented himself as a sales training expert, living in California.
