Awards Season 2022: Who Should We Watch On The Red Carpet?

February 6, 2022 Share

As we approach Awards Season, you can literally hear the excitement of the anticipated glitz, glamour, and gowns. And it’s getting louder!

Despite the forecast for 2022 Awards Season fashion looking unclear, if last year’s historic ceremonies are anything to go by, we should expect high fashion, high drama, and high heels.

The real question though is who will emerge victorious in the season’s style stakes? Read on to see a the eight actresses we’l be looking out for on the red carpet this Awards Season.

Zendaya

In recent years, Zendaya has taken Hollywood and the fashion industry by storm. You only need to look at her Spider-Man: No Way Home premiere dress (pictured above), which was glitzy and cobweb-inspired. Every fashion designer wants to dress her, but who will she wear this year?

Alexa Demie

Zendaya’s Euphoria co-star Alexa Demie has had the whole of Gen Z’s jaws dropping when it comes to her character’s Y2K style, but we have faith that her red carpet looks this Awards Season are going to have a similar impact.

Alexandra Shipp

Her role in Tick, Tick… Boom! is surely generating Oscar hype, and her love of retro elegance has delighted fashion aficionados on several occasions. Let’s see if Alexandra Shipp delivers her characteristic glamour to the red carpet once more.

Maggie Gyllenhaal

Maggie Gyllenhaal’s impeccable elegance is exemplified by this Prada navy blue velvet dress with contrasting white poplin sleeves. With her directorial debut The Lost Daughter set to win big this year, we can’t wait to see what her propensity for clean cut lines and a minimalist colour palette brings to the red carpet. Refined luxury at it’s best we are assuming.

Dakota Johnson

Starring in Maggie’s film is Dakota Johnson, a scion of Hollywood’s golden era and one of Alessandro Michele‘s BFFs. It’s no surprise, then, that she paired a bejewelled bralette and high-waisted, wide-legged trousers, both by Gucci, to the 10th Annual LACMA Art+Film Gala in 2021 (pictured above). We’re hopeful she’ll wear a glitzy gown from Gucci’s SS22 collection on the red carpet this Awards Season.

Ruth Negga

The Oscar buzz has already started swirling around her performance in the 1920s-based drama Passing, so should we consider Ruth Negga‘s big fashion moment in vintage Arnold Scaasi at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures gala (pictured above) as the opening salvo in her Oscar campaign? We will have to see, but this certainly appears to be the start of some major fashion-related promotional effort. One thing is for certain: the red carpet fashion crowd certainly won’t be passing her by.

Kristen Stewart

During the press tour for Spencer, Kristen Stewart fell under the ever-chic enchantment of Chanel and masterfully represented the new punk princess perfection from Creative Director Virginie Viard. This Awards Season we are expecting even more androgynous glamour from Kristen.

Demi Singleton

Demi Singleton, who is only 14 years old, is kicking off her career with a fashionable flair.  Singleton, who plays a young Serena Williams in King Richard, can draw inspiration from the queen of tennis’s characteristically gorgeous outfits.
